Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid Debiba will visit Tunisia on Thursday, September 9, 2021, to meet with President Kais Said, who confirmed during an accountability session of the House of Representatives held in Tobruk that he intends to make this visit to put the dots on the letters and solve the problem of closing the border between the two countries, stressing that Libya and Tunisia need to open border crossings, adding that Libya does not accuse Tunisia of exporting terrorism as a friendly country and Libya has economic and popular relations.
Human rights activist Mustafa Abdel Kabir told JDD Tunisie that the visit is expected to focus on several files, including the prime minister’s improvisation in a number of statements that would undermine national sovereignty in addition to the security issue on the border and trade and economic exchanges.
In particular, he discussed the phenomenon of flooding the Libyan market with Turkish goods bearing Tunisian brands in the Libyan consumer market.
It is also likely that the opening of the regional security situation, especially what is happening between Morocco and Algeria, added Abdel Kabir that the health protocol of compulsory quarantine inside the hostel at a high cost does not take into account the marginalized and the poor and would hinder the return of school and university, considering the work of Tunisians in Libya.
