The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, said in an interview with “Euronews” yesterday, Saturday, June 5, 2021, on the occasion of his visit to Brussels, that the adjectives used to talk about immigration are not standardized, once it is said that it is illegal and the other time is irregular, adding, “Many talk about security solutions, but It is clear that security solutions are not enough. If they (the immigrants) found hope in life, their dreams came true, and they found the possibilities available on the northern bank, the issue would not have been raised at all.”

Saied stressed that it is better to address the causes rather than the phenomena, as migration, which is described as irregular and originates from Tunisia or from a number of North African countries towards Europe, there are those who facilitate this migration in the north. There are criminal networks that traffic in human beings, they trade in these people, they work in the dark, they work without papers, without rights, which is one of the ways of human trafficking. We must also talk about the regular migration of a number of scientists. In the past year, almost more than 500 doctors went to Europe.

President Saied also stated that there are agreements with a number of European countries and the European Union, noting that he asked French Prime Minister Jean Castix and a number of officials and friends of Tunisia to envision new mechanisms and methods that would enable justice in the whole world.

He added that the Europeans listen when he talks about the problems and difficulties that Tunisia faces in obtaining supplies of vaccines, and there are practical solutions, of course, and there is the approach that has been adopted regarding a number of measures that have been taken, but it is insufficient and useless.
Said said, “Only yesterday, there were cries of panic in a number of states of the republic regarding the provision of oxygen, and the provision of the minimum amount of medical care, and the catastrophic situation was surrounded, with the available capabilities. But this catastrophic situation cannot be approached at the level of one country, but the approach must be a global one.

Regarding the security situation, he stressed that Tunisia is not a country that terrorism targets every day, it is a safe country, and we must fortify society with a culture that is an impenetrable dam against terrorism, by educating a number of values, at that time we can limit terrorism that infiltrates minds because it is empty. .

Commenting on the establishment by some Arab countries of official and diplomatic relations with Israel, the President of the Republic said, “We deal with countries, regimes choose the choices they want, we did not interfere in them at all. They are free, but also we are free, we lived free, and we want to die free. They are free. They chose what they chose.”
