The President of the Republic decided, in agreement with the head of government and the president of the ARP, to deploy a light rapid intervention company “LQRF” to the Central African Republic under the flag of the United Nations.

This military intervention is part of the support provided to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The decree published in number 47 of the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) published on Friday, June 4, 2021, specifies that this military unit, which is made up of one hundred and eighty (180) soldiers, is responsible for the missions of the intervention,for the protection of the civilian population against acts of armed groups and the securing of the deployment area, in particular through the installation of checkpoints, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of personnel and United Nations property.

It also provides support for disarmament, demobilization, reintegration and repatriation operations, as well as support for monitoring respect for human rights.

It should be mentioned that, the deployment of the aforementioned military unit is fixed for a period of one year from June 5, 2021 renewable for an additional period of one year.
