In an unexpected visit to Sidi Bouzid, the president of the republic Kais Saied announced that the exceptional measures will remain in effect and that a head of government will be appointed.

He added that Transitional provisions have been put in place.. A head of government will be appointed, but the transitional provisions respond to the demands of the people.”

He added that “a new electoral law will be drawn up so that the deputy is accountable to his voters.”

He also affirmed that the provisions relating to rights and freedoms stipulated in the constitution will remain in force, and “no one will be able to seize your freedom,” as he put it.

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, also denied the recent news about his detention and arrest at the Carthage Palace.

He pointed out that Tunisia is living in a historical stage in extension of December 17, 2010, and stated, “We are in a corrective revolutionary stage of the revolutionary explosion
