The secretary general of the Tunisian General Labor Union, Noureddine Tabboubi, said today, Monday, June 7, 2021, that the recent increases were not expected and could worsen the citizens’ crisis and exhaust it, considering that the increase price is part of “a political stupidity. ”

Taboubi added that the union was surprised by the recent increases, noting that he had contacted Prime Minister Hichem Mechishi.

On the other hand, Taboubi said official visits by the government and others are only media images and carry no weight in light of political wrangling and internal strife.

Taboubi insisted that the union adheres to the national dialogue initiative, considering that dialogue is the only way out of the suffocating crisis.
