Today, Thursday, July 15, 2021, MP Mohamed Ammar announced his final resignation from the Democratic Bloc and the Democratic Current Party. Ammar wrote on his official Facebook page, “I no longer know the party – of which I was one of its founders in 2013 – until its wise leadership yesterday interrogated me on issues of concern to the country and the citizen, including the recent efforts I made to try to help bring in vaccination in order to save lives despite the loss of our mothers, fathers and sons. And a Tunisian family was not free from accepting condolences for an injured person.” He said that he wishes success for the current party, apologizing for not continuing the “dream”, as he put it.
Last June, Mohamed Ammar withdrew from the presidency of the Democratic Bloc because of his family circumstances, which he said necessitated him to stay abroad. It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the Democratic Current Party, Ghazi Chaouachi, called, in a statement to Al-Maghrib newspaper, to resign from the presidency of the Democratic Bloc, in view of his violation of the party through the positions and statements he made, which Chaouachi described as repeated slips of the tongue, stressing the necessity of the commitment of the President The bloc disciplines and imposes harmony among the members of the bloc.
It is worth noting that the vote of 5 representatives of the Democratic Bloc, including Mohamed Ammar, to approve a draft basic law related to the approval of a headquarters agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tunisia and the Qatar Fund for Development on opening an office for the Qatar Fund for Development in Tunisia, sparked widespread controversy, considering that they violated the position of the bloc rejecting this agreement. .
