Rafik Nsibi, coordinator of the Regional Vaccination Campaign in Sidi Bouzid, confirmed in a statement to JDD Tunisie that vaccinations will resume normally after the resumption of vaccination on Monday (July 12th).

The Regional Vaccination Centre in Sidi Bouzid was in disarray yesterday after running out of doses and long queues remained under the hot sun waiting for its turn until a quantity of convergence was brought in from the neighbouring governorate of Kasserine.

According to Rafik Nsibi, vaccinations were delayed some yesterday after sending an administrative car to Kasserine to fetch doses and avoid shortages, especially since a large number of citizens are transported from far away to get the dose.

“Yesterday’s scenario was repeated this morning, as we sent another administrative car to Gafsa state to do the same job,” he said, adding that restlessness among citizens was caused by the absence of waiting areas.

“We had tents standing in front of the meeting center, which we have been able to obtain from the associations, but the latter has recovered its equipment,” he said, noting that the only tent erected is on the king of the Tunisian Red Crescent – Sidi Bouzid branch, and it does not do the job as it does not protect all the queues.

Single vaccination center

Rafik Nsibi pointed out that those wishing to receive vaccination against Corona are forced to move from the accreditations of Jilma, ouled haffouz, Cebbala, maknassy and others to the center of Sidi Bouzid gouvernorate, considering that it contains the only vaccination center in the region, adding that the residents of remote accreditations such as Menzel Bouzaiane and Mezzouna benefit from mobile vaccination campaigns.

He explained that allowing pharmacies to carry out vaccinations opens the door to questions about the lack of opening regional convergence centres with accreditations.
