He added that the municipalities’ decision came as a protest against the municipalities’ failure to vaccinate and not to enjoy any additional privileges, especially granting additional hours judged to bury the bodies and rest days.”
Bouassida confirmed that the decision was taken during the joint periodic hygiene campaign between the municipalities of the regular state today, Saturday, in the Soukra area, noting that the sanitation workers and those assigned to the burial “unanimously decided to launch a strike in light of the outbreak of the epidemic and the growing number of burials of Corona victims in the state at a daily rate that recently ranged between 8 and 9.” deaths.”
He added that government order No. 10 did not give any importance to the municipalities at the beginning of the vaccination process, and many sectors were vaccinated, but the municipalities and those in the confrontation did not receive any attention.
He added that on June 1, regarding the vaccination of priority groups, the two municipalities were given this privilege, as they face the risk of infection during the burial of Corona victims and dealing with dangerous waste, but to date no one of them has been vaccinated, “noting that the Ministry of Health” decided to vaccinate groups in the education and tourism sectors, ignoring the two municipalities, despite reminding her of more than one correspondence for the purpose.” according to him.
