On Tuesday, Algeria partially reopened its borders by resuming flights between Algiers and Paris, after 15 months of being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday afternoon, an Airbus belonging to “Air Algérie” landed at Houari Boumediene Airport, in Algiers, with 299 passengers on board from Paris-Orly airport.
The same plane inaugurated, on Tuesday morning, the opening of the borders with a flight to the airport located in the suburbs of Paris, during which it carried about 60 passengers.
It is worth mentioning that, the Algerian government announced last week that it would gradually resume flights to four countries: France, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey, on June 1.
The authorities decided to re-operate these flights, provided that the arrivals are subject to strict precautionary measures, including their stay in a compulsory quarantine for five days in a hotel set by the authorities, at their own expense, as well as the costs of the laboratory tests they undergo upon arrival in the country.
