During an information meeting with his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the Carthage Palace on Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, expressed his hope that the Tunisian-Algerian relations would be further consolidated in the future, pointing to the work of the two countries’ leaderships to make them an example to follow.

Saied said that he and his Algerian guest were exposed to the new ways through which integration between the two countries will be achieved, through a number of bilateral agreements that will be signed in a number of fields.

Saied affirmed that work will be done to shorten the distance in time to avoid missed opportunities.

The President of the Republic said: “The relations between us have been distinguished throughout history and will be distinguished in the future, because challenges cannot be faced individually. Rather, we must come together in different ways that achieve the purposes for which these agreements were established.”

He also noted the Algerian position towards Tunisia in the face of the Corona pandemic, saying: “I will not forget the Algerian position in light of the pandemic, how oxygen is shared between the two countries… We will share everything, we share the same hopes and the will to achieve the hopes of our people in Tunisia and Algeria.”
