Mokhtar Jemaï,a member of the defense team for Yassin Ayari, said during a press conference held today, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, that the defense team will not submit a request for a presidential pardon against his client, but will submit a request for a policeman’s release.
Jemaï also clarified that it has not yet been confirmed that “the post, the subject of the suspension, related to his accusation of undermining the dignity of the army, was actually downloaded by his client on his Facebook page, indicating that if Al-Ayari had actually downloaded it, he had downloaded it before he became a member of Parliament.”
He pointed out that Ayari is covered has two cases, and he is arrested in connection with one of them, while the second was postponed to the date of next October 27, stressing that the Defense Committee will submit a request for the release of a policeman, not a request for a presidential pardon.
