An aircraft and ship rental program has been put in place to provide additional travel to repatriate Tunisians residing abroad for the summer vacation, Transport Minister Moez Chakchouk said on Saturday.
In a statement granted to TAP, on the sidelines of a visit to the governorate of Monastir, he said that “14 planes will be made available to the airline Tunisair, two of which will be rented to ensure the return of Tunisian residents. abroad during the summer season, in July and August in particular ”.
“Tunisair will try to ensure the greatest number of trips, with the lowest costs, given that the tariffs were excessive during the previous period,” he said, noting that the tariffs of the national carrier, located between 400 and 500 euros, are the lowest on the market.
On the maritime transport side, the Tunisian Navigation Company (CTN) will announce next week, 22 additional trips to Genoa, according to the minister who specified that these trips will be introduced on the reservations system after the completion of negotiations between the CTN and its partners.
The CTN began organizing its program for the return of Tunisians abroad in December 2020, recording a high number of reservations compared to 2019.
