On Friday morning, September 10, 2021, President Kais Said received Mr. Josep Burrell, The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The President stressed that this visit translates the friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and the European Union and demonstrates, once again, the mutual desire to enshrine the concepts of dialogue and consultation on some common issues.
In this context, the Head of State stressed Tunisia’s strong commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with European space and its firm belief in the values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law it shares with the European Union.
The Head of State state stated that the situation required extraordinary measures under the constitution to correct the situation, save the state and respond to a broad popular will without the intention of reversing the gains made, noting that these measures will be followed by steps to come to strengthen the democratic path in Tunisia.
