Deputy Mohamed Ammar announced on Tuesday his withdrawal from the presidency of the democratic bloc for “personal” reasons.
In a statement to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP), Ammar added that he has been abroad for a month and can no longer fully assume his role as head of the parliamentary group. The current legislature is expected to end next month.
Democratic Party MP Noomane El Euch will serve as the bloc’s presidency until a new president is appointed.
Recall that on May 29, 2021, the president of the Democratic Current Ghazi Chaouachi called on Ammar to step down from the presidency of the bloc.
