Kamel Akrout called on Wednesday, July 21st, in an open letter addressed to the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, to implement Article 80 of the constitution.
Akrout warned that the situation is catastrophic and cannot continue, as the condition of the people and the country has worsened, and initiatives must be taken to stop this fall into the abyss, saying that this demand necessitated his responsibility as a citizen and based on his experience and training, according to him.
He attributed the situation to the confirmation of the continuation of the frantic struggle for power at the expense of the health and lives of Tunisians, the latest of which was “the open call for vaccination and the resulting attempt to score points amid the smell of death, which proves once again the failure of the authority’s management of the epidemic.”
He added, “In this catastrophic situation, he exploits all the weakness of the state in his own way as bribery, violence, robbery, theft, indecent assault, encroachment on others and their property, and chaotic construction … And all this is in full view and hearing of everyone and without deterrence and punishment … We are in the process of building mafias, militias and criminal groups out of control.
