In a direct speech this evening, the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, announced the following measures:
The Parliament remains suspended or frozen until the date of organizing new elections.
Organizing a popular consultation starting from January 1, 2022, and preparations were made for the electronic platforms and began to crystallize clear and brief questions so that the people were able to express their will, and all precautions were taken to secure the electronic referendum or popular consultation.
In addition to the platforms, direct consultations will be organized in each delegation, to be completed at home and abroad on March 20, the date of the Independence Day celebration.
A committee whose members and competencies will be determined will take over the committee, which will combine the various proposals and finish its work before next June.
Constitutional and other reforms will be submitted to a referendum on July 25, 2022.
Legislative elections will be organized according to the new electoral law, on December 17, 2022.
