Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum confirmed that Algeria is preparing to reopen a land border crossing with Libya, and that it is in talks to open a sea line with the port of Tripoli, as part of the visit of Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba to Algeria.

On Saturday, May 29, Dabaiba began a visit to Algeria at the head of a ministerial delegation, and met his counterpart Abdelaziz Jarad and attended an economic forum with the participation of 400 economists, including 150 Libya.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, confirmed that “Algeria is about to finish the logistical and technical preparations to open the land border crossing (Debdab-Ghadames), in coordination with the Libyan side.”

It is worth mentioning that the “Dabdab” crossing, which will soon be opened, is one of three border crossings that have been closed since 2011 with the beginning of the deterioration of the security situation in Libya.
