The customs services at Tunis-Carthage Airport seized unauthorized sums of foreign currency, the Euro, estimated at 231,000 dinars, in the possession of three foreign travelers coming to Tunisia from different destinations, as part of the fight against foreign currency smuggling, the Tunisian customs published on Monday.

The customs office reported that, yesterday, Sunday, the aforementioned amounts were seized hidden in the bags of travelers, who denied that they had what they declare for the customs interests, to be found hidden inside their luggage.

The same source added that seizure records were issued for this purpose, for violating the requirements of banking legislation and foreign trade.

It should be noted that the amounts of foreign currency seized during the first eight months of 2021 at the customs border office at Tunis-Carthage Airport were estimated at 8.4 million dinars.
