About three weeks separate us from the start of the school year and we begin to wonder about the preparations to ensure the best possible conditions for a good return to school.

What will change in the group system this year? Will the programs be streamlined as has been the case over the past two years? Will all educational staff and all students be vaccinated? What is the strategy adopted by the Ministry of Health in this regard?

To these and other questions, we will try to provide the necessary answers.

In a statement given to the media last Sunday in Slimane (Nabeul governorate), as part of the start of the second national vaccination day, the Minister of Education Fethi Sellaouti indicated that the start of the school year will be maintained on its usual date, that is to say September 15th.

He added that the group education system will be canceled this year.

For more details, “JDD Tunisia” contacted the press secretary of the Ministry of Education Mohamed Haj Taieb. The latter said that there are “committees that are working on the start of the school year. For vaccination, for example, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, committees have been looking at a plan to ensure vaccination of students in final grades in high school, and those suffering from chronic diseases. ”

Regarding teachers, the press secretary added that “a vaccination campaign has been organized to vaccinate some of them and we are moving towards vaccination of the whole educational framework.”

It should be noted that during his intervention on the airwaves of a private radio, Tuesday August 17, 2021, the general secretary of the secondary education union, Lassaad Yaâkoubi assured that a “peaceful return to school will depend on the vaccination of students over 12 years old.”
