Today, Monday, August 16, 2021, the resigned deputy from Qalb Tounes, Zouhair Makhlouf, announced that he is under house arrest
Makhlouf said in a blog post on his official Facebook page, “I was placed this morning under house arrest under Resolution No. 502 dated August 16, 2021 issued by the Minister of Interior in my house located in Habib Thamer city in Maamoura, from Nabeul, without legal justification and in conflict with the constitution, laws, treaties and International conventions and agreements signed by Tunisia.
The deputy in allusion considered that this matter came as a result of his not being silent about the measures taken by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied and his fierce struggle on the Internet and on websites against these unconstitutional abuses and human rights violations that he carried out against parliamentarians, against judges, and against activists, according to him.
