Today, August 8, 2021, the Director General of Health in Tunisia, Faycel Ben Salah, revealed that the latest statistics indicate that about 80,000 Tunisians received vaccinations in the first hours of the first day of the inauguration of intensive vaccination operations throughout the territory of the Republic.
In an interview with the national channel, Bensalah added that this important figure reflects the degree of Tunisians’ awareness and confidence in state institutions.
It is noteworthy that the 365 centers that were opened today at the opening of vaccination operations are witnessing an intense turnout for Tunisians over 40 years old to obtain the AstraZeneca vaccine, while the 56 continental centers also opened their doors to receive the registered, which corresponds to the date of receiving the vaccine doses.
On the other hand, a number of centers today witnessed some delegations, such as Bir El Hafi from the wilaya of Sidi Bouzid, a technical failure that caused the disruption of the Evax system, which made those in charge of these centers resort to the manual registration process.
