Tunisian swimmer Ahmed Ayoub Hefnaoui achieved a remarkable achievement by winning the 400-meter freestyle race, Sunday, July 25, at the Tokyo Olympics.
According to an article published by the Washington Post, today, Hafnaoui did not wear a customary track uniform to the medal podium afterward _perhaps because one wasn’t prepared for him and he put the gold medal on in a T-shirt and shorts.
It should be noted that, the 18-year-old swimmer scored a time of 3 minutes and 43 seconds, the third best time this year, ahead of Australian Jack McLaughlin and American Kieran Smith.
Hafnaoui dominated the race since its inception and was the first to arrive, to win the second gold in swimming after the coronation of the American Chase Kailich in the 400m medley.
This is Tunisia’s second medal in these games, after Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi was crowned on Saturday with a silver in the 58-kg category in taekwondo.
