Lawyer and law professor Chokri Azzouz published last night, Thursday June 10, 2021, an article on Facebook, in which he commented on the latest developments in the Nabil Karoui prison case, commenting that the authority had become a falsification of people’s rights, their money and their freedom.
It should be mentioned that, Nabil Karoui’s lawyer, Nazih Souii, revealed yesterday during a press conference that the test according to which Nabil Karoui was accused and imprisoned was “falsified” by forensic experts who had it. carried out, Souii added that the news was catastrophic from a judicial, legal and political point of view. He also explained that the case of Nabil Karoui is “political par excellence”, and Nazih Souii referred to the smear campaigns that have targeted Karoui since 2016: “Nabil Karoui has been described as involved in corruption and money laundering, and they had no excuse for it ”
For his part, lawyer Chokri Azzouz concluded his text by commenting: “Who deserves prison is the judge who put Nabil Karoui in prison”.
It should be noted that the spokesperson for the Antiterrorist Judicial Pole, Mohsen Dali, told “JDD Tunisia” that investigations have been launched in the context of a fraud case in which three forensic experts were tasked with preparing a technical test report in relation to the money laundering case related to Karoui. The investigating judge of the Tunis Court of First Instance has undertaken to investigate the fraud case.
The prosecution has examined the complaint lodged by Nabil Karoui’s defense team.
