Today, June 5, 2021, the Free Constitutional Party organized a protest march that started from the city of Bardo against what it described as “Ennahda’s control of Parliament” under the slogan “Liberating Parliament from the “Brotherhood’s” Dictatorship.” Hundreds of people attended the march, which later turned into a stand in front of the outer door of the Assembly of People’s Representatives building.
The protesters raised slogans such as “Down with the rule of the Supreme Leader,” and “Dissolving Parliament is a duty.”
In front of the stampede and breaching the security barriers in front of Parliament, the security forces prevented the protesters from entering Bardo Square, resulting in skirmishes between the security forces and the citizens who were finally able to enter the square after Abir Moussi, the head of the party, stormed the security barrier with her bodyguards for the protesters to follow.
Against what Moussi described as the security hostility that Hichem Mechichi imposed on the demonstrators, as he is under the control of the Ennahda movement, the party leader announced the sit-in in Bardo Square until the departure of the “Brotherhood and its followers” from Parliament.
