Tunisians are awaiting the announcement of the government’s composition and the name of the prime minister on Saturday, with Tunisian media reporting that Said will soon make it public in an official speech.

Al-Arabiya correspondent reported that the interior minister in the former Mashishi government Taoufik Charfeddine will be the most prominent candidate for the presidency of the government. The new form of government may also depend on the way poles such as economic and financial pole.

This comes as the Tunisian Labour Union warned on Friday of the dangers of limiting the powers to the Tunisian president, saying that his monopoly on amending the constitution and electoral law is a danger to democracy, calling for dialogue.
Saeed removed the prime minister and froze parliament on July 25th, saying he was seeking to save the country.

The Labour Union said that there was no solution to emerge from the current crisis other than consultation, partnership and dialogue on the basis of national principles, Tunisia’s sovereignty, the service of its people and the impartiality of self-interest and factional interests.

The Tunisian Labour Union, which has one million members, is an influential key player in the Tunisian arena. He welcomed Saeed’s move on July 25th, but called on him to act within the constitution.

The Union warned of “the dangers of pooling powers in the hands of the Head of State in the absence of constitutional amendment structures”, and considers that “the Constitution is a key starting point and reference pending a conscious referendum on its amendment that is the product of a broad dialogue”.
