A parallel program of animated films entitled “CinéRif kids” will be reserved for the little ones.
Back this year, for a 3rd edition, the CinéRif Documentary Film Days are held from 6 to 10 September in Meknassi in Sidi Bouzid. 9 documentaries signed by Tunisian filmmakers will be presented in the villages of El Mish, El Karma, El Mabrouka and El Nasr.
Behind this festival created in 2018, is the association Art Meknassi, which has partnered with the cultural association Al Badil, the Cultural Alternative and the Center for Dramatic and Scenic Arts of Sidi Bouzid with the support of the TfanenTunisie Créative program, to bring cinema back to this city devoid of cinema, like so many others in our country even the least remote, of cultural life. This was followed by a second session in 2019, and due to the pandemic, the third session of the festival was postponed for this year.
The event proposes, during this edition, Tunisian productions, with among others, ecological, social and economic themes related to the major problems that these rural areas are experiencing such as water scarcity, unemployment, failing infrastructure,…
The films programmed are “Tunisian Assoifés” by Ridha Tlili, “The normal way” by Erij Sehiri, “A return” by Abdallah Yahya, “Couscous: the Seeds of Dignity” by Habib Ayeb, “Voice of Kasserine” directed by Olfa Lamloum, “Generation Manich Msamah” by Nawaat, “Tout va bien lella?” by Rabeb M’Barki, “Deportato” by Hammadi Lassoued and “Terre amère” by Mohamed Boukoum. The screenings will be followed by panels of discussions in public places with the public.
