As part of the 32nd edition of the JCC, two independent selection committees met to view Tunisian films that have applied in several sections of the official competition. These committees have chosen the Tunisian films that will be represented in the official competitions of the 32nd edition of the JCC.

Each selection committee is composed of four members made up of academics and critics.

The first committee watched the feature and short fiction films.

The second committee/jury was responsible for viewing the feature and short documentaries.

The two committees attest to the quality of the 53 films nominated for the official competitions. The nominated films are distributed as follows:

18 feature films distributed as follows:

9 feature-length documentaries

34 short films distributed as follows

 29 short fiction films

 5 short documentary films

After deliberation, the two selection committees, official and independent, selected the following films:

Fiction Feature Film Competition:

1- “Insurrection” by Jilani Saadi, madbox production and JS productions

 2- “A story of love and desire” by Leyla Bouzid, production Blue Monday Productions

 3-“Papillon d’or” by Abdelhamid Bouchnak, shkoon production and SVP

Short fiction film competition:

Feature Documentary Competition:

1- “Halal Cinema” by Amine Boukhris, production Aljazeera Documentary Channel and Donia Films

 2- “Papi, what did you do with your youth?” by Akram Adouani, production Aljazeera Documentary Channel

 3- “Manca Moro” by Rim Temimi, production NOMADIS IMAGES

Short Documentary Film Competition:

1-“Tourists Out of Season… by Maher Hasnaoui, Libre Production

 2- “Festina lenta” by Baya Medhaffar, production JS Productions

The announcement of Tunisian films in the official out-of-competition sections will be made later, notably in the “look at Tunisian cinema” and “special screening” section.
