Public forums for French-speaking writers in the world will be organized on September 23 and 24 in the City of Culture, at the initiative of the French Institute in Tunis and in partnership with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, marking the start of a series of cultural events to be held in conjunction with the Francophone Summit scheduled for November 20-21, 2021 on the island of dreams, Djerba.

France, the Ivory Coast, the Republic of Guinea, Quebec (Canada), the Swiss Confederation, the Wallonia-Brussels Confederation, as well as the Francophone Organization participate in the organization of this international cultural event, through programming the attendance of about 300 actors in the field of the French-speaking book sector from all over the world from Authors, publishers, distributors, book sellers and workers in the digital sector of books, as well as libraries, professional syndicates, national and international organizations and associations that support writers, and public and private institutions active in the field.

This international event, which carries with it an important political, economic, cultural and educational impetus, aims to enhance the diversity of intellectual and literary creativity in the French language and contribute to the development of the Francophone publishing sector in a dynamic and balanced manner based on cooperation and partnership between the various parties, as well as developing the publication of French-speaking books and facilitating its movement and support related digital activities.

Public forums for French-speaking writers also represent an opportunity for all actors in the book and publishing sector in the Francophone space to link the book makers and the reader, value the role of reading and employ it to serve the mass reading, enhance the creativity of the writer and the recipient alike, and support the movement of French-language literature around the world.

On the sidelines of this international event, brilliant writers in the French language from the five continents are expected to participate in the World Conference on French Language Books to be organized on September 25-26. This is within the framework of a literary committee established by the French writer Michel Le Brey, whose work will be coordinated by the French writer and journalist of Moroccan origin, Leila Slimani.
