The Ministry of Women, Family and Seniors plans to launch a national societal dialogue on violence against women to put an end to social gender-based crimes, Thursday announced the minister, IMEN Zahouani Houimel.
Speaking at a meeting with the department officials and representatives of international partner organizations, the minister indicated that this dialogue will bring together government officials and representatives of political parties, national organizations and civil society, reads -on in a statement published Thursday.
According to the same source, this national societal dialogue will have to lead to effective recommendations that will be entered in a national pact, on the occasion of the celebration of National Women’s Day on August 13.
“National Women’s Day will also be an opportunity for announcing important decisions to promote the economic empowerment of women and strengthening its place in society in addition to its protection of all forms of violence.
