The exceptional measures announced by the President of the Republic Kais Saied, and published yesterday in a presidential decree, aroused contrasting reactions from the political parties, between support and opposition.
In a statement granted to the Tunis Afrique Presse agency, the secretary general of the People’s Movement Zouhair Maghzaoui mentioned that the announced measures constitute “important political reforms which are demanded by the various political actors and even by some opponents of President Saied” .
As for the president of the free destourien party PDL Abir Moussi, she indicated in a live video that “whoever claims to support the President of the Republic must advise him not to neglect the legal basis which taints the legitimacy of his decisions”
She added that “some law professors constitute a real threat because of their malicious interpretation of the legal texts by playing on words in order to mislead the citizen and to pass the expected project by taking advantage of the exceptional situation”.
For his part, the president of Ennahdha Rached Ghannouchi, in a statement to the Reuters news agency, denounced the exceptional measures announced by Saïed: “the announcement meant a suspension of the constitution and that the Ennahdha party, which had already considered the July 25 measures to be a coup, would not accept it ”.
As for the Current Democrat (Attayar) Afek Tounes, Republican and Ettakatol parties, they indicated that the presidential decree n ° 2021-117 is “at odds with legality and that it constitutes a coup against the Constitution and leads the country into the unknown. »
In a press release made public on Facebook on September 23, 2021.The four parties denounce “the exploitation of exceptional measures by the President of the Republic to mislead Tunisians and impose his individual political choices.
