There was a July 25, 2021 and then a September 22, and those who tried to make September 26 a third key date did not succeed because of a past, not very far away, which made them a political class very feared by a people who have suffered to the bone throughout the last decade.

The latest exceptional measures announced by Kaïs Saïed are not unanimous because they present the man as a future dictator although he does not give the impression. However, those who came out on Sunday to oppose the will of the President of the Republic do not care much about democracy and freedoms. False similarities Certainly, the rally brought together figures of political Islam, others more extremist and even heads who belong to the extreme left. Their presence together, although programmed because of the common interests they defended, reminded us of the famous alliance of October 18, 2005. An unnatural alliance set up against the abuses of the Ben Ali regime and its excesses that affect freedoms and human rights. However, this time, the context is no longer the same.

Those who cry scandal following Saïed’s decisions do indeed represent the political class that held the reins of power for ten years to show Tunisians of all colors. They are the ones who opened the boulevards of corruption in which they plunged to plunder the coffers of the state and impoverish a large part of the people. They were the ones who encouraged and turned a blind eye to the terrorist acts that led to the political assassinations (Chokri Belaid, Mohamed Brahmi and Lotfi Naguedh) as well as the execution of soldiers and agents of the Presidential Guard through the attacks in Bardo and Sousse.

They are the ones who have created a dangerous vacuum in the country’s governance by fleeing the establishment of a Constitutional Court, just to deceive and sow the disorder and chaos that allows them to stay in power for a long time. Today, they are reaping the consequences since Kaïs Saïed was able to carry out his constitutional coup by taking full advantage of this vacuum that left him open to move forward and interpret as he wants a Constitution open to all readings, manipulations and interpretations.

They are the ones who destroyed the country’s economy and emptied the coffers by appropriating undue goods without taking into consideration the laws in force or the moral commitment to serve the country and by imposing on the citizens trade agreements concluded with Turkey in order to “kill” the country’s economy and industry. It is they who, as the latest reports of the Court of Auditors attest, took full advantage of foreign funding to conduct their electoral campaign in the 2019 legislative elections and keep control of power.

They are also the ones who did not hesitate to call on their friends and protectors abroad to intervene in Tunisia and bring them back to Parliament, their magical kingdom of power. It was they who deeply angered Tunisians who found themselves disillusioned and disillusioned because of the governance of upstart and opportunistic political parties. These are the people who came out on Sunday to shout their anger at the new dictator, calling him all the outrages and insults.

An aspiring dictator whom they themselves supported at one point, believing they had convinced him to stand together with them. Other challenges These opponents of Saïed still refuse to acknowledge their failure and admit that he was more skilful and more intelligent and opportunistic than them since they were caught in their own trap. For Tunisians, the real ones, the page of the pre-25 July is already turned and other challenges await them. Saïed is there, but he must never have a blank check to act as a rider alone.

His own political and social convictions are not shared by all Tunisians and must be discussed with the living forces of civil society before putting them into practice. This means that the country is not yet out of the hostel and the next steps will be crucial to preserve the interests and identity of the country and allow a rapid economic recovery. Work on the board awaits Saïed and his people. For the moment, he has the confidence of the majority, but this does not mean that he will have a total and permanent green light.
