The Heart of Tunisia bloc held an emergency meeting, according to the decisions taken by the President of the Republic. As a result, several points were addressed, issued in a statement on Monday, July 26.
Heart of Tunisia considered that the decisions taken are a grave breach of the constitution, the provisions of Chapter 80, the foundations of the civil state, the consolidation of all power in the hands of the President of the Republic, and the return of the Tunisian Republic to individual rule.
It also expressed bias to the people’s legitimate demands, “which we have always called for, and we have called on all parties to work on them instead of engaging in false political battles, and to understand their demands for social justice and their right to a decent life,” according to the statement.
The party called on the Assembly of the People’s Representatives to convene immediately, and also called on the prime minister to assume his legitimate duties and avoid creating a vacuum in the institution of the government’s presidency.
He also called on all national forces to rally around the national interest and adhere to institutions within the framework of the concept of dialogue, solidarity and national unity.
