This evening, Sunday, July 25, 2021, Professor of Public Law Saghir Zakrawi said that the President of the State, Qais Saied, should have resorted to the supra-constitutional rules and principles that depend on maintaining social peace.

Sghaier Zakrawi , in his telephone intervention on “Radio Shems FM”, considered that Tunisia is on the verge of a civil war and institutions are about to collapse, wondering, “What is the benefit of resorting to the constitution while the country is collapsing?”

Zakrawi stressed that the decisions announced today are hard, and added that it seems that he was forced to take them in response to the calls of many citizens.

Saied: “I don’t want blood to spill out, and I am wary of resorting to weapons.”

For his part, President Kais Saied warned this evening, Sunday, July 25, 2021, “many are trying to infiltrate and resort to using weapons,” according to what he said after an emergency meeting with security and military leaders at Carthage Palace.
