It is noticeable, according to Mounir Kchaou, a professor of political and moral philosophy, that there is no road map to solve the crisis in Tunisia, with the exception of talks about visions and proposals submitted by the country’s political components. The continuation of the current situation, the abolition of the constitution and the suspension of laws is the most dangerous scenario that the country may witness, so the constitutional institutions must return to work as soon as possible.
It is also necessary for Parliament to return to work, and to activate the country’s foreign policy as soon as possible so that no party monopolizes the government and so that Tunisia does not return to dictatorial rule, stressing that it is necessary for all Tunisian forces to enter into a comprehensive dialogue in order to get out of the current impasse.
The writer and political analyst Salah El-Din Al-Jourshi confirmed that President Kais Saied will not abide by the time period he specified, since he has stated that he is working to return the situation to normal as soon as possible. However, moving multiple files may extend this time.
He added that so far there is no clear roadmap for the Tunisian president. He is waiting for the General Labor Union to present its vision for a solution in the country to be relied upon. It is also working to arrange the internal house of power to hold all the files. What is required today is to support the democratic process in the country and hold the negligent to account.
Sociology professor Mounir Saidani agreed with Salah El-Din Al-Jourshi’s opinion that the president will exceed 30 days because it is not enough to accomplish what he has started, noting that the steps that would restore stability to Tunisia are more important than the number of days and the time limit set by the president for himself.
He added that Tunisia is witnessing a political moment par excellence and the constitution has nothing to do with it, and the president is working according to a plan he has set for himself, starting with his interpretation of Article 80 of the constitution, passing through the frequent meetings he holds daily with many sectors in the country, warning against the political exclusion of any party in the country.
Mounir Saidani did not hide his expectation that a new political coalition would soon be formed, comprising many parties not represented in Parliament, to be the president’s political coalition, adding that the situation was moving towards political détente, and the current situation could be resolved.
