Today, Monday, October 25, 2021, the President of the Republic said, during a meeting with the Minister of State Property and Real Estate Affairs, that the lease contracts of state lands that were enjoyed by thieves and bribers at the lowest prices must be terminated, and that it is necessary to put an end to the pervasive corruption in the same field.
The President of the Republic confirmed that there are dozens of cases in the conclusion of lease contracts for land and property belonging to the Tunisian state, saying: “There is a person who was granted land according to a contract in June 2020 with a rent amount that did not exceed 27 thousand dinars per year, while the land area exceeded 147 hectares.”
Saied added that there are parties tampering with the state and continuing to violate the Tunisian state’s property, backed by political parties, stressing that the Ministry of State Properties and the Public Prosecution will do their part to recover these properties and terminate all contracts that include legal breaches.
