On September 29, 2021, the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, entrusted Najla Bouden, to form a government, to be done as soon as possible, in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree no. 117 of 2021 of September 22, 2021 on exceptional and special measures in Chapter 16 thereof, according to a press release published by the Presidency of the Republic
It should be mentioned that the new head of government was born in 1958 according to Tunis Afrique Presse agency.
Regarding the positions she has held, she was the Director General and Head of the Management Unit of the PromESsE Project, in 2011 she was appointed Director General in charge of quality at the Ministry of Higher Education, according to the same source.
She was also Chargé de Mission in the Office of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chiheb Bouden, in 2015.Recall that, Najla Bouden is the first woman to hold the post of head of government in Tunisia since the country’s independence.
