Mohsen Sahbani, a member of the defense team for Nour al-Din al-Bhiri, said on the sidelines of the sit-in at the Lawyer’s House, that the Ministry of Interior is in trouble and its minister’s statements are just misleading.
Sahbani admitted that after the kidnapping of Al-Bhiri, his disappearance and his detention without legal justification, the Ministry of Interior was looking for any case, pointing out that the case that the minister talked about existed before, and if any charges or suspicions were brought against Al-Bhiri, the judiciary could have summoned him and taken measures against him, as he put it.
The defense team considered that the kidnapping of Al-Bhiri was an absolutely lawless case and not a case of house arrest which is normally less than prison while today we are before a situation where neither the lawyer nor the family can visit, and we do not even know the place, and it is even more dangerous than prison.
Sahbani indicated that they spent 3 days searching for Al-Bhiri, whose location was discovered by chance, as he put it.
Sahbani also stated that the ministry did not enable neither the commission nor the wife to visit, and stipulated that she enter for the visit by signing documents that she refused to sign, and the original that she will enter a public institution for the visit does not require that, he said.
