In a joint press conference with Prime Minister Hishem El-Meshishi, today, Saturday, May 22, 2021, the head of the Libyan National Unity Government, Abdelhamid al-Dbeiba, pledged to grant anti-Coronavirus vaccines to the Tunisian people if sufficient quantities were available after the arrival of expected shipments, adding that it was agreed with the Tunisian party to distribute medical equipment to a number of hospitals in the south of Tunisia.
Al-Dbeiba added that it was agreed with the Tunisian delegation that arrived in Libya today to enable the Libyans residing in Tunisia to fully own commercial and residential real estate in exchange for a pledge to regularize the status of Tunisian workers in Libya, renew their residency, and enable them to obtain all their rights.
The two sides also talked about simplifying the complex procedures at the border gates to facilitate the flow of citizens, especially in cases of travel for treatment, provided that the necessary guarantees are provided for non-penetration of terrorist elements.
Prime Minister Hishem Al-Meshishi pledged to review the restrictions imposed on people and goods that the two peoples have bypassed, according to his expression, stressing that the problems related to the security system that disrupt the entry of people due to the similarity of names will be overcome.
