At the end of its meeting held on Monday evening, the executive board called on the President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, to reverse the exceptional decisions he announced on July 25.
It should be noted that, the party considered that the measures taken by the president, including the freezing of the activities of the Parliament and the monopoly of the powers, are unconstitutional and represent a coup d’etat against the Constitution and the institutions.
He also called on the president to resolve the country’s problems within the constitutional framework which corresponds to the democratic choice that the Tunisian people have expressed.
The executive office insisted that it understands the legitimate demands of Tunisians and that social issues and the epidemic are the main priorities for the next step.
The executive board also called for a national dialogue to get the country out of this situation.
