The Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Zhang Jianguo confirmed in a statement to Mosaique today, Monday, August 2, 2021, on the sidelines of handing over a Chinese donation of 400,000 doses of the “Sinovac” vaccine, that his country will continue to support Tunisia in its fight against the Corona virus.
He said, “Despite the difficulties that Tunisia is going through, be assured that the Chinese government and people will remain by Tunisia’s side, because we always consider that to confront the epidemic, international cooperation must be strengthened, because the virus does not recognize borders between countries, and vaccination is among the effective solutions to confront it, and that is why the Chinese President stated during the past year.” That Chinese vaccination will be available to all countries of the world, and the arrival of this gift today falls within this framework.””We have confidence in the efforts made by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, and Tunisia, which will achieve success in the near future to curb the Corona epidemic,” he added.
He recalled the long-standing Tunisian-Chinese diplomatic relations that span 57 years and mutual cooperation, noting that these relations “were strengthened during the Corona pandemic by sending many donations of vaccinations and medical equipment.”
