Ghazi Chaouachi, secretary general of the Democratic Movement Party, renewed the president’s call to back down from presidential order 117 issued on September 22, 2021, stressing the need to return to the democratic track after a press conference held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, which brought together the Democratic Movement, the Bloc for Action, Freedoms, the Republican Party and tunisia’s prospects.
President cancels Tunisian earnings Chaouachi said that the President of the Republic chose to abolish the gains of the Tunisian people and their share of freedoms through the uniqueness of one opinion and collecting all the power in his hand, by violating the constitution that emerged from legitimate and democratic elections, and continued that the uniqueness of power will not improve the social and economic conditions of Tunisians, but will increase its complexity, especially in the case of weak financial resources of the state compounding the fears of experts and economists of the spectre of bankruptcy, he said.
With the change of political landscape Chaouachi pointed out the need to return to the democratic path and work in accordance with the constitution, and to form a national government as soon as possible in which national forces and democracy participate in line with the will of the Tunisian people to be democratic, he said.
Ennahdha causes crisis Chouachi blamed Ennahdha for the situation in the country, which allowed for a break with constitutional legitimacy and worsening economic and social conditions in the country, warning of the danger of collecting all power in the hands of the President of the Republic, which would bring Tunisians back to the pre-2011 square. It is noteworthy that the democratic movement had formed a front with a number of parties such as the Republican Party and the prospects of Tunisia and the bloc against the presidential order number 117, which they considered a major threat to democracy, although the democratic current welcomed the president’s decisions on 25 2021.
