Carthage Meetings: Government preparations continue until “further notice”

The President of the Republic’s meetings with the Head of Government continued during a week without announcing the government’s composition or the dates for its formation.

On October 7, 2021, the Head of State received Najla Bouden at the Carthage Palace for the fourth time in a row to see the progress of efforts to form the government so that its composition would be announced as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.

Recall that Najla Boden was commissioned to form the government on September 29, about two months after the July 25 procedures were announced, and she is the first woman in the country’s history to head a government.

A week has passed since the appointment of the head of the government , who was widely accepted by various national and international groups, considering her a positive point recorded for Tunisia and for Arab women with this appointment, but Bouden did not address any word until this moment, whether in her meetings with the President of the Republic or through the media.

The President of the Republic stressed that this choice is to combat chaos and corruption.For his part, constitutional law researcher Rabeh Kharaifi indicated that the head of state identified the most important points of the government program, in three main points: combating corruption, ending the tampering and loosening of state institutions, and managing and solving the problems of Tunisians (health, transport, education…).

Saied stressed during his assignment to the prime minister, “We will work together in the future with a firm will and determination to eliminate corruption and chaos that pervaded the state in many institutions…

In this context, the political analyst suggested, in a previous statement to “JDD_Tunisie”, that the president’s choice of Bouden is a message through which Saeed confirms that she is a new figure and is not from the current regime or from the Ben Ali regime, meaning that she is a “clean” personality, given that Kais Saied is trustworthy.
