The deputy in allusion and the representative of the Democratic Bloc, Anouer Bechahed, announced that he was surprised today, Sunday, August 15, 2021, while trying to travel to Marseille, where he resides with his family and where he was elected from the France 2 constituency, by preventing him from traveling after consulting the Interior.
In a statement to “JDD Tunisie”, Bechahed confirmed that he was informed of this orally by airport officials without handing him any official document explaining the reason for his travel ban, adding that no judicial ruling was issued in his regard and no case was related to him.
He stated that he tried to contact the President’s Office and Ministry of Interior officials to understand what was really going on, without a response, explaining that the decision to prevent him from traveling if it was an individual and was taken by airport security agents, this is a dangerous matter, as he put it.
And he considered, in a post on his official Facebook page, that his travel ban was an abuse of his right, and that preventing him from going out to work was a blatant violation of human rights, saying, “I will not talk about violating the constitution that the donkey ate. The change that attacks human rights is a coup.”
He told the witness that he had never violated the law or even tried to obtain a privilege, adding, “My wealth did not grow, but decreased, after I sacrificed 10 times the council’s wages in France every month, and I always said I am a soldier in the country.”
He continued that he did not receive gifts or gifts and did not attack anyone, and whoever doubts this should present one evidence or even one given, but he also bears responsibility for his false allegations, as he put it.
