In a speech on the sidelines of his participation in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi affirmed that human rights and public and individual freedoms are guaranteed and safeguarded, saying that “democracy in Tunisia is an irreversible and irreversible option.”, according to a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the same context, Jerandi explained that the dangerous situation that the state has reached as a result of political tensions and the economic, social and health crisis necessitated the intervention of the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, and that the exceptional decisions and measures he took are based on the text of the constitution to correct the democratic path.

He also insisted, “the need to respect the rule of law, to fight corruption, and to prosecute all those who have benefited from the privileges or are involved in corruption cases before July 25, 2021.
