The exceptional measures announced by the Tunisian president Kais Saied, on September 22nd,2021, were covered by national newspapers on September, 23rd.
“La Presse” published an article entitled “The President of the Republic promulgates new exceptional measures: Saïed is shifting up a gear”.
According to this article,” the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, promulgated, last night, a presidential decree relating to new exceptional measures.It decided to keep all activities of the Parliament suspended, to maintain the lifting of parliamentary immunity for Members of Parliament and to suspend all allowances and benefits granted to the Speaker of Parliament and its members”
As for “Alchourouk”, it focused on the reaction of Ennahda’s leader Rached Ghannouchi in an article entitled “Ghannouchi refuses”.
“Commenting on the decisions announced yesterday by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, the Speaker of Parliament and the Ennahda Movement, Rached Ghannouchi, considered that these decisions constitute “abolition of the constitution.”
“In details: The issuance of “The Small Constitution” by Kais Saied in the official newspaper” was the title of the newspaper “Acharaa Magharibi” which explained that “The exceptional measures guarantee a new temporary organization of powers or a “new constitution” in which Qais Saied has a complete monopoly on the legislative and executive powers.”
