During a press conference held by a group of Tunisian magistrates, the judge Refka Mbarki, president of the Union of Administrative Judges, indicated that there is pressure exerted on the presidency of the Administrative Tribunal which is looking into the matter. ‘examination of appeals against assignments under house arrest taken against a certain number of personalities, by virtue of the decree of January 1978 relating to the state of emergency.
In the same context, Mbarki underlined the role of the administrative judge today in the critical phase that the country is going through, as protector of rights and freedoms.
Mbarki also expressed his rejection of all forms of pressure exerted against the administrative court.
She stressed that the administrative judicial power will rule independently and objectively in the cases initiated.
