Today, Sunday, August 8, 2021, the Mayor of Tunis, Souad Abdel Rahim, confirmed to “JDD Tunisie” that she had been summoned to the Ben Arous Anti-Crime Squad as a model (complainant).
In response to what was circulated on social networking sites, Abdel Rahim said that the municipality of Tunis submitted a distortion petition against those who deliberately “promoted false information aimed at undermining and harming the reputation of the mayor of Tunis and some municipal officials, especially the general secretary.”
On July 26, Facebook pages published news that the security and military forces had gathered all the archives of the municipality of Tunis, which the municipal council denied in a statement on its official page on July 28.
The municipality stated that the information was false and baseless, denouncing these practices, which it described as “dirty,” which seek to confuse state institutions, sow chaos, distortion, slander and defamation.
The Tunis municipality also confirmed that it will take all legal measures against those responsible for these pages, within the framework of what the law authorizes.
