Former Prime Minister and head of the Tahya Tounes party, Youssef Chahed, denounced the smear campaigns, which he described as absurd rumors and disinformation aimed at defrauding the Tunisian people.

Youssef Chahed considered in a post on his Facebook page this evening, Saturday 7 August 2021, that since July 25: “The mafia and its affiliates are in a state of great panic, and everyone noticed the choir’s return again,” noting that the aim of the smear campaigns is to obliterate the memory of Tunisians about the promises they made. To them and to mislead Tunisians: “The mafia’s goal in this is to obliterate the memory of Tunisians about the promises they made to them and the crimes they committed for years and decades, and to distract and mislead the Tunisian people about what happened on July 25 in an attempt to direct public opinion against certain people and other topics.”

On the smear campaign, the head of the Tahya Tounes party confirmed that this campaign was launched since his party launched the war against corruption, pointing to the multiplicity of rumors that swirled around him: “The war of defamation and defamation began since we launched the war against corruption and has not stopped since then. In fact, the choir enjoys a vast imagination, as rumors and lies range from a travel ban issued in a daily newspaper that is denied by the official spokesman of the judicial pole, to the seizure of a Saudi gift through a fictitious company, to the attempt to shoot down a civilian airliner when I was prime minister.
