The “Choura” Council of Ennahdha movement, meeting since Wednesday, affirmed in a statement the need for the movement to carry out a deep self-criticism of its policies, to carry out the necessary revisions and to renovate its programs in anticipation of the 11th congress of the party scheduled for the end of 2021, to bring its choices and positioning in line with the expectations of the Tunisian street and the latest developments in the country.
The Choura Council, meeting against a backdrop of tensions and the withdrawal of several of its members, insists on the party’s attachment to the path of dialogue with all the parties, first and foremost, the Presidency of the Republic, to get out of the crisis, achieve social peace and undertake the necessary reforms.
In its statement, the council said it understood the growing popular anger at the failure of economic and social policies ten years after the revolution. He holds the entire political class responsible for the situation in the country, calling for the need to apologize for the mistakes made and to work to rectify the performance.
It should be mentioned that,the council said, however, concerned, by the institutional vacuum which to say for more than 10 days and the delay in the appointment of the personality called upon to form a new government team. He underlined the urgency of submitting the new government to the vote of confidence of the parliament to devote itself to the fight against the pandemic, the mobilization of resources from the 2021 budget for urgent expenditure and the preparation of the 2022 state budget. .
