The former head of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, Chawki Tabib, published on his official Facebook page today, Friday, July 30, 2021 documents, saying, “They refute the accusations that have been recently leveled against him, in defense of his honor and in support of truth,” according to the text of the following post:
“Because of the subject of my referral by the Public Prosecutor to the investigation on charges of misconduct during my presidency of the National Anti-Corruption Authority has become public and was discussed even by the Public Prosecution judges in official communications…
I allow myself to defend my honor and support the right to publish a copy of the complaint that Its editor accused me of appointing an auditor without the procedures for requesting bids…with what it refutes with the argument and evidence…
The second complaint was submitted by the agent of Elyes Fakhfakh companies…I am sorry, I cannot publish it and also submit what refutes it, as it relates to the investigation work of the commission and is covered by the duty to preserve professional secrecy.”
It should be noted that, Tabib confirmed to “JDD Tunisie” that he published those documents to defend himself and he added that the Public Prosecutor will refer the complaint to the investigation.
Recall that, Tunis Court of Appeal spokesperson Habib Torkhani announced that an investigation has been opened against Chawki Tabib following a complaint lodged by the company VIVAN, linked to facts of “suspicion of fraud and use of forgery”.
